Downtown Nicosia will host complimentary outdoor movie nights this June, promising an enjoyable experience beneath the early summer sky. To Erma café on Ermou Street will once again be the venue, offering a selection of films from Palestine, France, and Spain for cinephiles to relish.
The series kicks off with “200 Meters,” a Palestinian production by Ameen Nayfeh, depicting a father’s journey to reunite with his family separated by the West Bank barrier. Following this on Mondays is “Some Like it Veiled,” a French film by Philippe de Chauveron, narrating the story of a leftist intellectual who faces disruption when he hosts a Roma family in his home. Concluding the series on June 17 is “The Bride,” a Spanish adaptation of Federico García Lorca’s work, honored with two Goya awards. The screenings commence at 8 pm each Monday.
