If you are searching for a way to stay active this summer and keep moving despite the heat, the Municipality of Nicosia is offering a series of free fitness classes throughout July. Following a fantastic response to the initial round of Yoga and Pilates sessions, the municipality has announced that evening classes will continue in the green area next to the Eleftheria Square Amphitheatre this month.
Schedule and Registration
To beat the summer heat, the classes have been rescheduled to later in the day. Yoga classes will be held every Monday from 7 PM to 8 PM. These sessions are free to attend, but pre-registration is required via the Google Forms available on the Nicosia Municipality website to secure your spot.
Yoga Benefits
“Yoga is a practice that integrates movement with breathing, focusing on the harmony of body and mind. It enhances physical fitness, body strength, and mental and spiritual well-being. Bring your mat, a towel, a water bottle, wear comfortable clothes, and join us. Namaste,” say the instructors.
Pilates Sessions
Pilates classes are scheduled every Thursday in July at 7 PM, each lasting one hour at the same location. “Pilates is a method of exercise that merges stretching and strengthening,” explain the organisers. “It tones muscles, improves posture, and increases flexibility while also promoting coordination and balance of body and mind.”
