The ultimate event for book lovers, literature enthusiasts of all ages, and industry professionals is making its return. The 9th edition of Nicosia Book Fest is set to take place on October 5 and 6 at Acropolis Park in Nicosia, with free entry for all attendees. This year’s festival will focus on Latin American literature and culture.
Celebrating Latin American Literature
Rich with enchanting stories, legends, and magical realism, Latin American literature is celebrated globally, beloved by both Spanish-speaking readers and international book enthusiasts. This genre has introduced the world to remarkable authors such as Gabriel García Márquez, Jorge Luis Borges, and Mario Vargas Llosa, whose works take readers on magical journeys reflecting on life and society. This year’s festival will spotlight these iconic writers, host authors from Cuba and Brazil, and include a tribute to Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. Additionally, there will be cultural activities featuring artists from various Latin American countries.
A Weekend of Literary Delights
On the weekend of October 5 and 6, Acropolis Park will transform into a haven for book lovers, brimming with book stalls and reading corners. The organizers are diligently preparing for a myriad of activities, including book presentations, interactive sessions for children, activities for kids, a book market, a treasure hunt, and food stalls. This year’s event will also commemorate 50 years since the coup and the invasion, adding a poignant historical element to the festivities. A detailed program of the 9th Nicosia Book Fest is expected to be announced soon.
