August’s full moon is one of the most eagerly awaited events of the summer. Bright, majestic, and awe-inspiring, this month’s full moon will grace the night sky on August 19, offering the perfect backdrop for a special evening of poetry, literature, and music in Larnaca.
An Evening of Artistic Celebration
The International Larnaca Poetry Festival has teamed up with Aithrion to present a unique event titled For the Full Moon of August. This gathering will feature an array of authors, poets, and artists performing beneath the glowing full moon. Taking place at To Aithrion, just across from the Pierides Museum in Larnaca, the event will begin at 7 pm. Attendees will be treated to a variety of live performances, including poetry recitations, musical pieces, songs, and even dance. Over 20 performers will take the stage, delivering a night full of artistic expression. The event, conducted in Greek, has a modest entrance fee of €5, which includes a cheese and fruit platter to savor as you enjoy the performances under the moonlit sky.
A Night of Cinematic Delight
On the same evening, directly across the street at the Pierides Museum, an outdoor film screening will take place. The critically acclaimed film Murina will be shown on a large screen in the museum’s courtyard. The film will be presented in its original English and Croatian languages, with Greek subtitles. This cinematic experience is free to attend, making it an excellent complement to the poetic festivities.
