As November begins, Limassol is set to host a captivating new art exhibition focusing on the beauty of photography. From November 1 to 10, renowned photographer Falak Shawwa will present her exhibition titled Travel Tales, showcasing her journey through 11 countries and the unforgettable moments she captured along the way.
The 6×6 Centre for Photography will be transformed next weekend into a visual journey, with Shawwa’s photographic collection adorning its walls. Each image reflects intimate and heartfelt stories from her travels. “These images offer an invitation to explore streets, paths, and hidden alleyways, each telling a unique story I encountered during my travels,” Shawwa explains. “As visitors enter, they will receive a boarding pass guiding them to a designated photograph. The image, marked with a seat number, symbolizes a gateway to a new discovery.”
Shawwa, a seasoned photographer, has collaborated with prominent organizations such as Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP), and UNICEF, and holds certifications from National Geographic and Gulf Photo Plus in Dubai. Her work has graced galleries across the globe, including in London, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Beirut, and Cyprus. Through this exhibition, Shawwa hopes to offer more than just images. “My goal is to share the transformative power of photography, and how it can elevate our perspective on the world.”
“I encourage visitors to engage with each piece at their own pace,” Shawwa says. “Let each photograph stir emotion, spark reflection, and ignite inspiration. I hope these visual stories will allow people to find moments of solace, joy, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty that exists around us.”
