One of Greece’s top comedians, Katerina Vrana, is bringing her acclaimed show, Staying Alive (I Nearly Died, You Know), to Cyprus. Audiences will gather at the Pantheon Theatre this Friday and Saturday to experience Vrana’s unique storytelling, sharp wit, and unforgettable journey through a life-altering event. With a blend of humor and heartfelt insight, Vrana recounts her near-death experience in a way that’s both entertaining and moving.

Organizers describe Vrana’s show as “the most entertaining and uplifting story of nearly dying you’ve ever heard.” Staying Alive (I Nearly Died, You Know) has been a runaway success in Greece since its 2019 premiere, selling out venues across 14 cities in its 2023 European tour. Now, Cyprus’s English-speaking audiences have the chance to experience Vrana’s celebrated comic style firsthand.
From International Success to Personal Resilience
Before 2017, Vrana was already making a name for herself internationally with stand-up shows in both Greek and English, performing at major events like London’s comedy clubs, the Edinburgh Fringe, and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. CNN even highlighted her as one of the “Female Comedians to Watch”, and she achieved third place in the Laugh Factory’s 2016 Funniest Person in the World competition.
While touring in Malaysia in 2017, a sudden illness nearly claimed Vrana’s life, leaving her with lasting physical challenges. Today, she performs from a wheelchair, fearlessly incorporating her experience with disability into her comedy. In 2019, Vrana returned to the stage, and now her impactful show is ready to captivate Nicosia audiences.
