Sean Patrick Mulroy, an internationally acclaimed poet, will visit Nicosia to host a trio of literary engagements from December 6 to December 8. This exciting event series, held at Nicosia’s Flea Theatre, offers a rare opportunity for poetry enthusiasts to connect with an award-winning artist.
About Sean Patrick Mulroy
Mulroy is a globally recognized writer and performer who won the prestigious 2020 Button Poetry Chapbook Contest. His debut poetry collection, Hated For The Gods, was released in 2023 to critical acclaim. Currently touring Europe as part of his World Tour, Mulroy is set to captivate Cypriot audiences with his unique blend of literary prowess and engaging performances.

The series kicks off at 8:00 PM with a live poetry performance by Mulroy, showcasing his dynamic style and artistic expression. Following the performance, he will lead a mini-tutorial at 9:00 PM, focusing on techniques for effective poetry recitation and live performance. - Saturday, December 7:
Mulroy will guide participants through a Poetry Writing Workshop centered on breaking free from clichés in writing. “This workshop will help you identify and avoid overused ideas and imagery,” Mulroy explains. Participants will analyze their own work and that of others to learn how to refresh familiar concepts and subvert clichés creatively.
The second session, titled The Shape of the Verse: A Guide to Form Poetry, delves into the art of poetic forms, encouraging writers to push past traditional boundaries and unlock new creative possibilities. - Sunday, December 8:
The final day begins with a morning Lecture on Queer Poetry History, where Mulroy will explore the rich legacy of queer poets throughout history. The session concludes with an interactive Q&A, offering attendees the chance to engage directly with the poet.
