A Warm Welcome at the Christmas Village
For the second consecutive year, the Christmas Village will return to Laiki Yitonia, offering a delightful gathering spot for people of all ages. The municipality’s efforts to revitalize the heart of the capital are evident in the creation of a special Christmas route. This festive journey starts within the city walls, meandering through pedestrian streets, the Christmas Village, and the magical Fairyland. The route will also cover popular destinations such as Ermou Street, Makarios Avenue, Stasikratous Street, and various districts within the municipality, ensuring that the entire city is immersed in the holiday spirit.
Key Christmas Events to Mark on Your Calendar
To kick off the festive season, Nicosia will host the grand lighting of the Christmas tree on Sunday at 6:00 pm in Eleftheria Square. This will be the first of many exciting celebrations to come.
On December 7, from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, the Mall of Engomi will shine bright with its own Christmas tree lighting, alongside a fun-filled Santa Walk.
The following day, December 8, will bring a lively Children’s Christmas Parade, beginning at 4:30 pm on Makarios Avenue. This parade will gather families for a festive stroll through the city centre.
As the month progresses, other noteworthy events include the lighting of the Christmas tree at Ayios Dometios Chapel on December 15, followed by a classic car parade through Nicosia’s streets at 3:00 pm.
