Celebration and Spirituality in December
December is a month of joyous festivities, filled with feasts, parties, and vibrant gatherings. Yet, it is also a time of reflection and spiritual devotion. Adding to the season’s meaningful moments, upcoming music events in Limassol and Larnaca will captivate audiences with the enchanting sounds of the organ, offering a blend of religious melodies and heartfelt performances.
A Spiritual Musical Journey by Anita Tomasevich
Renowned Cyprus-based musician Anita Tomasevich is set to host a unique December concert titled “Musical Offerings.” This special event will traverse the world of spiritual music, presenting pieces from medieval to contemporary times. The organisers describe the concert as “a prayer, a meditation in search of peace and our human mutual connection and community.”
Heartfelt Performances in Limassol and Larnaca
The concert will showcase a selection of melodies performed on the church organ, creating an atmosphere of reflection and serenity. Anita Tomasevich will first perform at St Catherine’s Church in Limassol on December 18, followed by a concert at St Mary of Graces Church in Larnaca on December 21. Both events will begin at 8 pm.
A Diverse Repertoire of Sacred Music
The program features compositions from iconic musicians such as Machaut, Rameau, Bach, Andric, Ferrari, and Beaudoine. A highlight of the concert will be the performance of “Kyrie Eleison” from the Messe de Notre Dame, which promises to resonate deeply with the audience.
Supporting a Noble Cause
Entrance to each concert is priced at €15, and all proceeds will go toward charity, combining the power of music with the spirit of giving.
