As we approach what may be the hottest and most laid-back week of the year, the island’s event scene begins to slow down as many take their summer break. However, the energy on the island remains alive and well. Village festivals, outdoor cinema nights, art exhibitions, and live music events are still on the agenda. Among these is a special concert at Larnaca’s Medieval Castle, titled With the Glow of the Moon, perfectly timed to coincide with August’s enchanting full moon.
On August 22, the Department of Antiquities and the Deputy Ministry of Culture have organized a concert featuring the renowned Cypriot singer and songwriter Vakia Stavrou. She will captivate the audience with an international repertoire that transcends boundaries, drawing listeners into the mystical world of music. This free concert, set to begin at 8:30 PM, will showcase beloved songs from various cultures, performed in French, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, and more. Alongside these, Vakia will introduce some of her new compositions, promising an evening filled with musical journeys, light, nostalgia, and love.
Adding to the evening’s magic, Vakia will be joined by the talented pianist Manolis Neophytou, another esteemed Cypriot musician whose masterful playing will enhance the night’s musical experience.
