Downtown Nicosia Comes Alive with Music
Downtown Nicosia will resonate with music this Friday as Make Music Cyprus, an international music festival marking World Music Day on June 21, returns for its sixth annual celebration. Over 450 musicians, ranging from professionals to amateurs and students, will participate in this year’s event, transforming central Nicosia into a hub of musical diversity and creativity.
A Vibrant Musical Tapestry
From 5 pm until midnight, 14 different locations across central Nicosia will host live performances, offering a variety of musical genres for visitors to enjoy. From rebetiko to jazz, rock to Greek folk music, techno to Syrian folk, and DJ sets, there will be something to suit every musical taste. The event encourages attendees not only to enjoy the performances but also to engage in interactive musical activities throughout the city.
Explore and Experience
Music will echo through iconic locations such as Omerye Square, Nicosia Municipality, Dimarchias Square, and Eleftheria Square, among others, creating a dynamic atmosphere perfect for city strolls and cultural exploration. For those interested in more than just music, the festival will also feature bone marrow sample collection by the Karaiskaki Foundation and information provided by the ADHD association.
