September Brings a Variety of Events for All Tastes
If you thought the festival season in Cyprus wraps up with August, think again! Just as the summer lingers on the island, so does the vibrant festival calendar. As September arrives, annual festivals pop up across Cyprus, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Septemberfest: August 30 – September 5
Nicosia’s largest beer festival makes a comeback, featuring live performances every evening. The event kicks off with a concert by the popular Greek singer Stelios Rokkos, returning to the Septemberfest stage at Akadimias Park on August 30. A highlight performance by Panos Mouzourakis and Kostis Maraveyas will follow on September 3. In addition to the music, festival-goers can expect a wide selection of over 100 beers and various street food options.
Xarkis Festival: September 13-15
Living up to its wandering nature, Xarkis Festival will this year transform the streets of Nicosia’s old town. The 11th edition focuses on the theme “Unearthing Care: Ecologies of Collaboration,” offering a three-day program filled with hands-on workshops, exhibitions, interactive installations, and live performances. Following an artist residency from September 1-12, the festival will present works that explore collaborative art, Cypriot identity, cultural heritage, and craft traditions.
Flying Away Art and Music Festival: September 13-15
This popular annual event will feature hundreds of pop-up art shops, tasty food stands, cocktail bars, and nightly live music. Greek and Cypriot artists such as Magic de Spell, Mple, Evridiki, Pan Pan, Locomondo, Demetris Mesimeris, and Freideriki Tombazou are scheduled to perform. This year, the festival moves from Orfeas Stadium to the Famagusta Gate bastion.
Vegan Fam Festival: September 14-15
Returning for its fourth year, the Vegan Fam Festival will be hosted at the Ancient Olive Tree Park in Psematismenos. Focused on plant-based living, this event is not just for vegans—it aims to promote healthy products, new recipes, and provide engaging talks and workshops. A children’s program and live music will also entertain visitors as they explore the various market offerings.
Beonix Festival 2024: September 20-22
Limassol will host the island’s largest electronic music festival at ETKO, transforming the venue into an epic festival ground. With a lineup that includes international stars like Fatboy Slim, ARTBAT, and Tale of Us, the event will feature massive stages, high-tech light shows, and various experience corners, ensuring an unforgettable time for music and dance enthusiasts.
Pame Kaimakli: September 20-22
Organized by NGO Urban Gorillas, the Pame Kaimakli Festival aims to rejuvenate the old neighborhoods of Kaimakli. This event will feature site-specific and urban performances, inviting both locals and visitors to engage in participatory workshops, guided walks, public performances, and installations, all focused on community engagement and storytelling under the theme “Re*Open.”
Moonwalk 2024: September 20
Billed as Cyprus’ longest street music festival, Moonwalk returns to delight with hundreds of musicians performing along the seafront, all under the glow of the full moon. Various points along the promenade will turn into mini stages, where visitors can stroll under the rising moonlight and enjoy free performances by bands and orchestras every 100 meters.

12th Sardam Festival: September 26-28
Limassol will host the 12th Sardam Festival, an international interdisciplinary literature event, during the last weekend of September. Attendees can look forward to three evenings of alternative literary readings, screenings, and performances, bringing together both Cypriot and international writers and artists.
Limassol Wine Festival: September 28 – October 6
Celebrating its 63rd year, the Limassol Wine Festival will take place at the Marios Tokas Municipal Garden Theatre. The week-long event will feature local wine producers, artists, musicians, and food stalls. Originally held in August, the festival shifted its dates to late September to boost tourism and enrich the autumn calendar. Expect a celebration of the grape harvest, complete with local treats, photography exhibitions, children’s activities, and live performances.

Ecstatic Dance Festival Cyprus: September 29-October 4
The Ecstatic Dance Festival Cyprus returns to Val’s Place in Gialia, offering a full week of dancing, workshops, music, and holistic experiences. Global practitioners and DJs will lead sessions in yoga, meditation, breathwork, and of course, ecstatic dance parties, making it a unique event for those seeking movement and connection.
