The Rialto Theatre in Limassol is gearing up for another exciting edition of the Cyprus Rialto World Music Festival, featuring a lineup of concerts showcasing both local talents and acclaimed Greek artists. Scheduled throughout July, these outdoor performances promise to enliven the city center.
As part of the festival’s prelude, the Rialto Residency will take place in Platres this year, from July 1 to 6. Artistic directors Michalis and Petros Kouloumis will guide ten talented young Cypriot musicians through an exploration of traditional and contemporary Cypriot music. The culmination of their residency will be a special concert on July 6 at Glafkos Clerides Square in Platres.
Concert Highlights
The festival kicks off on July 10 in Heroes’ Square, featuring Michalis Terlikkas and the jazz rock ensemble Fuzz Bus in an adventurous performance titled “Out of our Comfort Zone”. Opening the evening will be Nama Dama, offering a dynamic preview of tracks from her upcoming album, “Pagan Soul”.
On July 12, the musicians from the Rialto Residency will take the stage for a live performance, followed by Usurum the next evening, presenting songs from their latest album along with selections from their discography.
Star Performances
Pop sensation Marina Satti will electrify the stage on July 17, blending Greek melodies with Balkan trap beats in a dynamic live show.
The festival concludes on July 19 with a special collaboration featuring Vassilis Philippou and Nikolas Tsangaris, debuting as Krúe. Accompanied by musician-composer George Demetriou on electronics, they will showcase pieces from their EP release and premiere new compositions.
