This December, Nicosia will come alive with the vibrant art of clay as the island hosts its inaugural ceramic festival. Claytopia – Ceramic Festival promises an exciting day filled with creativity, craftsmanship, and festive cheer for people of all ages.
Celebrating the Art of Clay
Organized by Ceramic Studio Tochka, this one-of-a-kind event will take place on December 8, transforming their studio on Nikiforou Foka Avenue into a hub of artistic activity. “We are delighted to introduce Cyprus’ first festival dedicated solely to ceramics,” shared the team at Ceramic Studio Tochka. “Join us this Christmas for a magical experience that combines creativity, skill, and holiday spirit.”
From 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, visitors can explore an impressive lineup of activities. The event will feature workshops for all skill levels, a vibrant market showcasing unique handmade ceramics, live music, festive treats, hot wine, and delicious food.
Interactive Demonstrations by Ceramic Masters
The festival’s programme is packed with engaging activities, including live demonstrations by expert ceramists. Attendees will have the chance to witness skilled artists at work:
- 11:00 AM: Sculpture Demonstration by Panayiotis Pasantas
- 12:30 PM: Pottery Wheel Demonstration by Petros Stavrou
- 2:00 PM: Free Pottery Wheel Try-Out for Children with Ioannis Nestoras
- 3:30 PM: Pottery Wheel Demonstration by Michalis Parpas
Activities for Children
Young participants are in for a treat, as the festival offers a special programme tailored just for them. Kids can enjoy creating Christmas ornaments, painting on ceramics, trying their hand at the pottery wheel, and watching the delightful muppet theatre show Once Upon a Time.
