In its highly anticipated 2024-2025 artistic season, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra (CySO) is excited to reintroduce chamber music concerts to its program. These performances, known as the Chamber Music Series, will showcase the remarkable talents of CySO musicians in an intimate and dynamic setting, starting next week.
Between October 2024 and April 2025, CySO will present six unique programs, highlighting the artistry of eight chamber music ensembles formed by CySO musicians. Audiences will be treated to an eclectic mix of music, ranging from classical masterpieces to rare and less familiar compositions, as well as popular and crossover genres. Each performance will take place in Nicosia and an additional city, offering a diverse and adventurous musical experience.
The first concert in this exciting series will be held on October 31 at the Markideio Theatre in Paphos, followed by a performance on November 1 at Pallas Theatre in Nicosia. This inaugural concert will feature the talented duo Duo Noïma, comprising Virginie Bove, CySO’s sub-principal flutist, and Eleni Kappa, a Cypriot flutist based in France.
Duo Noïma is renowned for bringing fresh interpretations and emotional depth to their performances. Their repertoire includes a wide range of works written for two flutes, along with meticulously selected arrangements from the Baroque period to contemporary compositions. With a commitment to innovation, they explore a variety of musical styles, from the works of JS Bach to cutting-edge modern pieces, promising an enthralling and sensory experience for their audience.
Following the debut performance by Duo Noïma, the Chamber Music Series will continue with a performance by the Fusionia String Quartet on November 21 and 22 in Paphos and Nicosia. To close the year, the Cyprus Horn Sound will collaborate with the Papageorgio String Quartet for two special concerts in December, scheduled for December 21 and 22 in both cities.
