A series of DJ parties, live concerts, and musical events are about to enliven the capital, offering culture lovers and event seekers something to enjoy. Nicosia is set to host some vibrant gatherings, starting with DJ Party Vol.2 this Friday at Eleftheria Square, organized by the Municipality of Nicosia.
DJ Party Vol.2: A Night to Remember
On Friday evening, Eleftheria Square will transform into a party hub, with several talented DJs taking the stage. From 6 pm to midnight, local artists will take turns at the DJ booth, each offering a unique musical flavor. The lineup includes DJ Savvas, DJ Chi, DJ Zeus, DJ Michael K, DJ Mike, DJ Louis CY, and DJ Jimbo JW, all set to keep the crowd entertained with funky beats. Each hour will bring a new DJ to the spotlight, ensuring a diverse mix of music throughout the evening.
This free event is part of the European Cities After Dark initiative, supported by the URBACT programme, aimed at boosting the night-time economy and fostering urban development in Nicosia. The event also offers a platform for local DJs to showcase their skills in front of a live audience.
Next Week’s Musical Offerings: The Joy That Wounds
Looking ahead, Stavroula Constanti, Elena Xyda, and Italian oud player Peppe Frana will come together for two concerts in Nicosia under the title The Joy That Wounds. These performances are a reunion of the three musicians, who will showcase modal music influenced by Classical Ottoman compositions, alongside Sephardic songs and traditional Greek melodies.
The concerts will take place on September 19 at Prozak, and on September 21 at Archontiko Ierodiakonou in Agioi Omologites, Nicosia. These performances are dedicated to the memory of their mentor, Omer Erdogdular, who introduced them to this rich musical tradition.
