Paphos Event Celebrates Cyprus’ Underwater Wonders
An upcoming event in Paphos will celebrate Cyprus’ vibrant underwater world. On August 8, a special evening featuring a photography exhibition, book presentation, and video projection will highlight the wonders of the Mediterranean Sea.
Honoring Sakis Lazarides
The event pays tribute to renowned underwater photographer and author Sakis Lazarides. Organized by the Chlorakas Cultural – Environmental Association, Paphos House of Arts and Literature, the AKTI Project and Research Center, and the Paphos Coastal Fisheries Association, this event promises an immersive experience.
One Night Only: Photography Exhibition
Held at the Pafos House of Arts and Literature for one night only, the exhibition will showcase stunning images of marine life and the underwater environment. Attendees will enjoy photo and video projections and presentations of two significant books: The Magical World of Seahorses (co-authored by Dimitris Pafras and Sakis Lazarides) and The Dusky Mediterranean Grouper, a photographic guide by Lazarides filled with fascinating facts and breathtaking images.

Lazarides, captivated by marine life, has dedicated decades to exploring and documenting the underwater realm. His work has received numerous accolades in underwater photography competitions and has been featured in esteemed publications like National Geographic and World Wildlife magazine.
