Fuckup Nights, a global initiative where industry leaders share their stories of failure, is back in Limassol for its second event this autumn. Fuckup Nights Limassol Vol. 2 will take place on Tuesday at Gazebo Mare, featuring four distinguished speakers who will open up about their missteps and how they used them as stepping stones to success.
The Purpose Behind Fuckup Nights
The co-organizers, Maria Sibirtseva and Alla Reveko, emphasize the aim of the event: “We want to inspire the Cyprus community to learn from their mistakes, foster an environment where people feel safe to share their journeys, and connect with like-minded individuals.” The event series is growing, with over 200 attendees expected this September, and speakers from diverse fields like real estate development, AI-powered projects, and creative agencies are slated to take the stage.
Meet the Speakers
One of the keynote speakers is Stylianos Lambrou, the founder and CEO of Heart Group, and co-founder of the Reflect Festival and TechIsland. His entrepreneurial career began at just 19 years old, despite having earned degrees from prestigious institutions like UCL and the University of Cambridge. During Cyprus’ financial crisis, Stylianos returned to his home country, where he now focuses on restoring historic buildings and developing innovative commercial projects through Heart Group.
Next, Natallia Miranchuk, founder and CEO of Soula, will share her journey. With over 17 years of experience in maternity and female well-being, she introduced new-born photography to several countries, realizing the need for emotional support for parents. Overcoming her own struggles with infertility and postpartum depression, Natallia built Soula, a platform for pregnancy and postpartum support, which later transformed into a female well-being app aimed at reducing anxiety and preventing burnout.
Another speaker, Martin Zarian, co-founder of Factory 39 and Balabook, is known for his work as an award-winning brand builder. With clients ranging from FIFA to Coca-Cola, Martin has crafted powerful brands and innovative digital products. He will discuss his approach to branding, strategy, and how he helps teams and startups achieve success while maintaining an element of fun.
Lastly, Ivan Sysoev, the Chief AI Officer at Quadcode, will talk about his expertise in implementing AI products to improve customer experience and optimize business processes. With a passion for mathematics and simplifying complex concepts, Ivan will offer insights into the world of artificial intelligence and dispel common misconceptions about the technology.
A Global Movement in Cyprus
Though Fuckup Nights is still gaining traction in Cyprus, the movement has a robust international presence, with events held in 66 countries and coverage in prominent media outlets like Forbes, The New Yorker, and the BBC.
