Film Nights Under the Summer Sky

Outdoor movie nights have become a beloved summer tradition, allowing audiences to enjoy films under the stars with popcorn in hand. This July and August, several cities in Cyprus are hosting movie marathons, offering cinephiles the chance to enjoy the best of international and local cinema, from blockbuster hits to independent films.

Kimonos Arts Centre Screenings in Paphos

The Kimonos Arts Centre in Paphos has kicked off its annual garden screenings at the Attikon Open Air Theatre. Every Wednesday and Friday, a new film is showcased, featuring popular titles such as V for Vendetta, No Country for Old Men, and The Silence of the Lambs. The screening program runs until August 9, with a short intermission between July 19 and August 2. This year’s theme revolves around power and madness, with all movies shown in their original language, accompanied by Greek and/or English subtitles.

Larnaca Cinema Society Events

In Larnaca, the Pierides Museum transforms its back garden into an outdoor cinema, courtesy of the Larnaca Cinema Society. Every Monday and Wednesday evening, films are screened starting at 8:30 pm, featuring a mix of foreign and Cypriot cinema. This weekly event provides a unique cultural experience in a beautiful outdoor setting.

10th Protaras Summer Film Festival

Celebrating its 10th edition, the Protaras Summer Film Festival returns from July 10 to 28. Held at Lefkola Square on the main Protaras Avenue, the festival offers free screenings of 25 blockbuster films, making it a perfect summer activity for movie lovers of all ages.

Constantia Summer Movie Marathon 2024 in Nicosia

Nicosia will host the Constantia Summer Movie Marathon 2024 from July 10 to September 8. In collaboration with the Friends of Cinema Society and Queer Wave, this marathon features films from around the world. Screenings take place every Wednesday through Sunday at 9 pm, presenting a rich selection of independent international cinema as well as local productions. This series of film evenings is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Theatro Ena.
