A thrilling schedule of events is set to unfold in Limassol during the 15th Open House Festival, running from Thursday to Sunday. The festival will kick off with two dynamic performances at the Municipal Arts Centre – Apothikes Papadaki.
The first event, led by Diamanto Hadjizacharia, will showcase a powerful piece titled A Dance for the End of the World at 6:30 pm. Following that, at 7:00 pm, Suzana Phialas will debut her exhibition Pulse, which will remain open for the duration of the festival at Apothikes Papadaki. Both of these early events are free of charge, though the evening’s headline performance at Rialto Theatre requires tickets.
Silvia Gribaudi will take center stage at 8:30 pm to present her highly acclaimed performance, Graces. This work draws inspiration from the renowned sculpture, The Three Graces, created by Antonio Canova between 1812 and 1817. The performance channels the mythological essence of Zeus’ daughters—Euphrosyne, Aglaea, and Thalia—who embodied the ideals of beauty, joy, and prosperity.
Gribaudi’s Graces explores the intersection of the human and abstract through the performances of three male dancers alongside the artist herself. Together, they blur the lines between traditional gender roles, embracing a form of expression that is raw, natural, and devoid of societal constraints. Gribaudi, known for her unique ability to transform imperfections into an art form, uses humor and empathy to explore the human body in a deeply theatrical and performative way.
For over a decade, Gribaudi has been questioning gender norms, identity, and the idea of perfection in both life and dance. Her work invites audiences to move beyond stereotypes, creating a more inclusive space for expression. Graces was brought to life with the support of Matteo Maffesanti, a director and videographer who collaborated closely with Gribaudi throughout the creation process. Together, they organized workshops that allowed local communities to engage with the choreography, further enriching the piece.
