Appleās latest iOS 18 update places significant emphasis on new mathematical functionalities across its suite of devices. Alongside enhancements like Math Notes in iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, Apple has also expanded the capabilities of the iOS 18 keyboard to include basic arithmetic and unit conversions directly within any text input area.
Initially highlighted by Ryan Jones on Twitter, iOS 18 now enables users to input mathematical equations and conversions directly into text fields. The keyboard’s suggestion bar conveniently displays the computed results in real-time as you type.
Users have the option to display the entire equation along with its solution within the text field, or simply show the final computed answer. This functionality supports various types of calculations, including basic arithmetic, currency conversions, temperature conversions, and more.
iOS 18 is presently accessible through developer beta versions, with a public beta slated for release in July. The official public rollout is expected later this year, promising a broader audience access to these innovative features.
