A successful pharmaceutical company is looking for a Pharmaceutical Portfolio Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will have relevant sales/BD experience in the pharmaceutical industry and in-depth knowledge of the industry. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities for pharmaceutical products in the pharmaceutical industry, emphasizing differentiated and innovative drugs that go beyond our current portfolio.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry landscape, including emerging trends and competitive dynamics, and regulatory environment.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize the pharmaceutical product portfolio, aligning with corporate objectives and market opportunities.
- Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, patients to support product adoption and market penetration.
- Conduct stakeholder analysis to understand the needs and preferences of potential partners and develop customised strategies to meet their requirements for differentiated and innovative drugs that offer better therapy for the patients.
- Work closely with internal teams, including Research & Development (R&D), Regulatory Affairs (RA), Intellectual Property (IP), Market Access, Digital Strategy and Legal to ensure successful execution of these differentiated and innovative drugs.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, and other events to promote our focus on differentiated and innovative drugs and identify new opportunities.
- Present compelling business proposals to the board in a clear and concise manner.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, preferably Pharmacy.
- An MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree will be considered an advantage.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in portfolio management within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Strong interest in Business Development and identifying new product opportunities in our focus markets.
- Experience in stakeholder analysis and a strong business network in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Demonstrates proactive initiative and enthusiasm, supported by comprehensive industry knowledge, to confidently navigate and take calculated risks.
- Proven track record of identifying, negotiating, and executing successful business development deals and partnerships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to develop and execute complex strategic plans.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory environment.
