Looking for a creative activity in the capital this week? Two local artists have an event you might enjoy. Lenia Georgiou’s Nefeles Visual Arts & Art Therapy Studio is hosting an Urban Sketching workshop this Friday, led by Chloe Finn. This introductory session will guide a small group of participants through on-location observational sketching.
The workshop will be a hands-on experience lasting three hours, from 6-9pm. Participants will head outdoors to sketch their surroundings, focusing on being present, with demonstrations and sketching techniques provided. The final sketches will be displayed in a small exhibition at the studio, accompanied by a glass of wine. All materials are provided; interested participants simply need to make a reservation ([email protected] or 96 586535, 96 310833) and show up.
This workshop is part of the Nefeles Meet the Artists programme, which invites artists from various fields such as painting, sculpture, and more each month. This month’s artist, Chloe Finn, specializes in urban sketching. Her on-location illustrations capture real places she encounters in her travels, from cities to interiors.
Chloe Finn’s passion for landscapes has led to collaborations with various groups and organizations, creating images, graphics, fabric designs, and children’s book illustrations. Living and working in Cyprus, she engages with artist groups, workshops, and social projects. This Friday, she invites the Nicosia community to explore urban sketching.
