Reviving a Cultural Gem
After a hiatus since 2019, the Pafos Aphrodite Festival is making a triumphant return. This cultural event has been absent due to the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent staffing challenges. Earlier this year, the festival’s organizers announced its return in 2024 and issued an open call for opera productions.

The much-anticipated festival will take place in September, delighting opera enthusiasts, Paphos residents, and visitors from across the island. The highlight of this year’s festival is the presentation of Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata, a masterpiece in the classical opera repertoire. The performances are scheduled for September 6 and 7, and will be held at the historic Paphos Medieval Castle square.
A Stellar Line-Up
This year’s production promises an unforgettable experience with performances by the Tbilisi State Opera, Tbilisi State Ballet, and the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, world-renowned artists will join the choir, orchestra, and ballet company, adding to the festival’s grandeur.
