Larnaca has been buzzing with creativity and innovation throughout June as the Larnaka Biodesign Festival unfolded. Organized by Larnaka 2030, this event marks a significant step in the city’s artistic journey towards sustainability.
The festival has been a hub of participatory workshops, events, performances, and installations, featuring a diverse lineup of creatives, academics, and scientists exploring our connection with the environment. As it enters its final weekend, culminating on Sunday, June 23, the festival promises an unforgettable conclusion.
The Grand Finale: Children Lead the Way
The closing ceremony of the festival’s second edition will showcase a collective performance by children. Using art as a medium of expression, the children will lead a procession through the heart of Larnaca, reviving the spirit of the novel Ouranosyssoreutis. The procession begins at 6pm at the Medieval Castle and winds its way to Zouhouri Square.
The performance is a collaborative effort involving children from the Forest School for Children in Kornos, Kindergarten Manitaroulis, Purple CLEF, and young participants guided by Andry Christofidi, Vaso Panagi, Salome Paraskeva, and Theodora Andreou.
Free and open to all, the parade aims to unite Larnaca residents and visitors from across the island for one last celebration.
