This week’s live music gigs promise to bring a burst of entertainment to both rural villages and urban centers, enhancing the August schedule. With four standout events on the horizon, there’s something to cater to every taste and age group.
Thursday: An Intimate Musical Evening in Larnaca
Kicking off the week, Hot Soap Studios in Larnaca will host a cozy music show on Thursday. The Allusion Quartet will perform as part of the Hot Soap Intimate Sessions, an exclusive annual series. This year’s session features the quartet’s unique blend of jazz, pop, funk, blues, modal, and free improv sounds, offering a rich musical experience.
Friday: Blues and Rock in Limassol
On Friday night, Billy Jo Sports & Rock Bar in Limassol will come alive with blues, rock, and experimental tunes. The four-piece band Cherry on Top, formed in 2022, will take the stage. Known for their versatile repertoire that spans funk, pop, blues, and rock, the band will deliver both cover songs and original pieces sure to elevate the evening’s mood.
Saturday: The Little Prince Comes to Life
Saturday night will witness a unique performance of The Little Prince in Fasoula village square. An actor and three musicians will blend live music and narration to bring Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic fairy tale to life. The show features original compositions using instruments like the handpan, theremin, and percussions, making it suitable for all ages. The ensemble, including Giorgos Evagorou, Dimitris Spyrou, Vasilis Vasiliou, and Andreas Rodosthenous, will also perform on August 13 in Anogyra village and August 14 in Melini village, both at their central squares.
