The OneCare Group and AIPFE Cyprus-Women of Europe are collaborating to host a special Menopause Conference on May 19. This conference aims to offer support and information to women dealing with menopause, particularly addressing workplace challenges.
Menopause is a significant but often overlooked issue that profoundly impacts women’s physical and mental health, as well as their overall wellbeing. Despite its importance, menopause support in the workplace is often lacking, leading to productivity losses and retention issues.
During the conference, experts will advocate for governmental and private organizations to prioritize menopause support in the workplace. The event, part of OneCare Group’s Menopause Project, will be held at the University of Cyprus Medical Campus, Shakolas Educational Centre, and will be inaugurated by Marinos Kokkinis, managing director of OneCare Group.
Speakers will cover various menopause-related topics including exercise, nutrition, and mental health. The lineup includes obstetricians/gynaecologists Dr. Maro Petrou and Dr. Constantinos Stylianides, psychotherapist Dr. Katerina Mavromati, health and wellbeing manager Stella Kakouri, and counseling psychologist Dr. Maria Ali from OneCare Group. Mahi Solomou, a menopause champion and AIPFE Cyprus-Women of Europe board member, will discuss the benefits of workplace menopause support.
Following the presentations, there will be a panel discussion moderated by Thalia Iacovou, founder of Menopause Support Cyprus and vice-president of AIPFE Cyprus-Women of Europe. The discussion will emphasize the importance of formal policies, education initiatives, and comprehensive support systems to create inclusive and supportive work environments for perimenopausal and menopausal women.
