Gloria Gallery is set to launch its new season with an art exhibition by renowned Cypriot artist George Kotsonis. This event will feature a collection of his paintings, mosaics, and sculptures.
A Celebrated Cypriot Artist
George Kotsonis is celebrated as one of Cyprus’s most influential and respected painters. Over the years, he has hosted numerous solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions, both locally and internationally. His art pieces are proudly displayed in various private and public collections. Kotsonis currently lives and creates his artwork in Paphos.
The Artistic Vision of George Kotsonis
Dr. Natia Anaxagorou, the Head of Cultural Services at Limassol Municipality, has high praise for Kotsonis’ work. She describes him as an artist who “embodies the vision of a modern yet classical creator.” According to Dr. Anaxagorou, Kotsonis’ art merges Western European styles with Byzantine influences, resulting in a unique and innovative aesthetic. She highlights his mastery of form, where every brushstroke is meticulously placed, giving rise to a rich and complex interplay of colors achieved through a meticulous layering process.
Upcoming Exhibition: Nostalgia by Kristia Andreou
Following Kotsonis’ exhibition, Kristia Andreou, another talented local artist, will showcase her work at Gloria Gallery. Her solo exhibition, titled “Nostalgia,” will open on September 20, featuring a new series of paintings.
