Though autumn might feel far off, an exciting German-themed festival is just around the corner, offering a mix of music, tradition, and fun. Oktoberfest in Cyprus will kick off in classic fashion with an energetic performance by a Bavarian-style band in the Limassol district.
Oktoberfest Extravaganza in Trimiklini
On October 4, as part of the Music in the Mountains series, a vibrant Oktoberfest celebration will be held at John’s Restaurant in Trimiklini. The event will feature the talented Bierstein Blasmusik band, a group of nine musicians who will fill the night with lively, folksy German music, characteristic of Oktoberfest festivities. The performance will mark five years of the band playing together.

The Bierstein Blasmusik band consists of a diverse lineup of musicians:
- George Georgiou on clarinet
- Elli Michael on soprano saxophone
- Christos Loizides and Janet Baker on trumpet
- Steve Walkley on trombone
- Jim Adair on euphonium
- Tom Lisset on tuba
- Majiek Kielak on accordion
- David Martin on drums
The band offers a unique experience, being the only one of its kind in Cyprus. Drawing from various musical backgrounds, the group specializes in traditional Bavarian-style Oktoberfest music. Their performance will also include a variety of other genres, from singalong medleys to pop covers, all delivered with an Oompah twist.
