Polis Chrysochous, a favorite summer destination, is set to host a plethora of events in August and September, promising to entertain both locals and visitors alike. This season, the Municipality of Polis Chrysochou will showcase a diverse cultural program featuring theatrical performances, concerts, and outdoor cinema. These events have been enriching the Paphos agenda since mid-July and will continue almost daily until September 20.
August Highlights
On August 5 and 6, two Cypriot comedies will be performed by local theatre groups. The first show will take place at the car park next to Mikis Tavern and the second at Drouseia Theatre, both starting at 8:30 PM.
A music and dance performance dedicated to rembetiko music will be held on August 7, again at the car park next to Mikis Tavern. Following this, an eight-member bouzouki ensemble will perform a concert on August 9, featuring a mix of art, music, folk, and rembetiko songs. A traditional evening with Areti Ketime and Stefanos Pelekanos is scheduled for August 12.
The Phoinikas Festival on August 14 will feature Greek singer Makis Dimakis at the Ayia Marina Chrysochous Park. Unlike the other free events, the Phoinikas Festival requires tickets, priced at €15.
September Celebrations
The cultural festivities will continue throughout August, culminating in the World Tourism Day Festival on September 20. This event will be held at Ayios Andronikos Park and will feature traditional products and folk art.
