An upcoming voice and piano recital will bring the timeless melodies of classical music to the Strovolos Municipal Theatre in Nicosia. Titled “Contes à la Belle Étoile,” this event on September 10 is organized by the Ledra Music Soloists and the Institut Français de Chypre. It will celebrate the musical legacy of two iconic European composers and highlight the talents of two Cypriot musicians.
Honouring Two Great Composers
Young soprano Constantina Nicolaou and pianist Nicolas Costantinou will take the stage to commemorate the 200th birthday of Austrian composer Anton Bruckner and the 100th anniversary of the passing of French composer Gabriel Fauré. This recital marks Constantina’s debut solo performance in Cyprus, providing a rare opportunity for the audience to enjoy her voice. The program will feature masterpieces by Bruckner and Fauré, along with works by Franz Schubert and Claude Debussy.
Spotlight on Emerging Talent
Constantina Nicolaou made her notable debut in May 2024 at the Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, where she performed as Frau Fluth in the opera “Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor.” Her future engagements include concerts with the Cyprus Youth State Orchestra, both in Vienna and Cyprus. The recital will also feature solo piano performances by Nicolas Costantinou, a Steinway artist known for his captivating and adventurous repertoire choices.
