Technopolis 20 is keeping the music alive this August with an array of performances ranging from Soundscapes of Nicosia to acoustic jazz. While many events pause during the summer, the Garden Music Concert Series at Technopolis 20 continues to captivate music enthusiasts throughout the month.

Four Live Performances Scheduled for August

The first performance kicks off on August 18 with the acoustic jazz band Trio in Cahoots at Technopolis 20’s garden. This talented group will play a mix of jazz, pop, folk, and Latin-inspired tunes. The setlist includes music from artists like Antonio Carlos Jobim and Nick Drake, alongside classic jazz and pop songs. The band features Kakia Fesa on vocals, Antreas Yerolatsitis on guitar, and Kyriacos Kesta on double bass.

On August 21, the newly formed musical group Nābu Pēra will make their debut at Technopolis 20. This Cypriot ensemble consists of Natasa Hadjiandreou on percussion, Dimitris Yasemidis on flute, trombone, and electronics, and Savva Thomas on percussion and vocals. Their performance, titled Soundscapes of Nicosia, aims to promote contemporary Cypriot music by blending natural and electronic sounds with a variety of wind and percussion instruments. This fusion of genres not only entertains but also encourages the audience to reflect on their relationship with their sound environment.

On August 25, the George Kalopedis Quartet will bring a mix of jazz, swing, and soul to the garden. This group of acclaimed Cypriot musicians includes George Kalopedis, Loukas Louka, Philipp Psillides, and Costas Challoumas. They will perform classic jazz, R&B, and soul songs made famous by male vocalists like Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Ray Charles, and Van Morrison.

The final performance of the August series will take place on August 30 with the local music project Beats’n’Pieces. Featuring Eleonora Roussou, Alexis Kasinos, Andreas Rodosthenous, and Rodos Panayiotou, this group will take the audience on a musical journey through bossa nova, jazz, pop, soul, and original compositions, wrapping up a month of diverse musical experiences in style.
