Get ready to journey to the medieval era this weekend, as Pyrga village transforms into a scene filled with knights, horse-drawn carriages, and the lively sounds of folk music. The highly anticipated Renaissance Fair returns this Saturday, offering an exciting day full of activities for all ages. Visitors can look forward to music, dancing, historical reenactments, and medieval-themed games.
“This year,” according to the event’s organizers, “the Renaissance Fair will vividly celebrate the deep connection between the Cypriot farmer and his land, placing a special emphasis on the sowing season, symbolizing the rebirth of the earth and highlighting the important themes of cultivation and community coexistence.”
One of the highlights of the day is the Spectacular Parade, led by the renowned Sbandieratori Delle Sette Contrade Di Orte, Italian flag bearers, who will signal the start of the festivities. The gates will open at 3 PM, and the parade will commence an hour later in Pyrga’s central square, welcoming both guests and performers in style.
After the parade, the fair will offer a wide variety of activities to engage visitors. Traditional medieval games, archery, and horseback rides around the village will entertain guests of all ages. Additionally, an outdoor market will showcase local products, including handicrafts and delicious Cypriot foods. Throughout the day, live music performances will add to the atmosphere, and guests will be treated to thrilling fire shows, children’s games, and dance performances.
