A brand-new tech event inspired by Google’s Tech Talks is set to take place in Nicosia, spotlighting the latest trends in technology and its rapid growth. Organized by a collaboration of several companies and organizations—Pale Blue, QBeat Technologies, Deloitte Cyprus, and the Google Developer Group Cyprus—the event aims to bring together tech enthusiasts and professionals alike. On October 7, at Deloitte Cyprus, the event will feature two presenters who will delve into tech-related discussions and share innovative ideas. The event is open to everyone, not just tech experts.
Event Details
The event, Tech Talks #4, will begin at 7 pm, with the first presentation starting at 7:30 pm. The first speaker, Michalis Kyriacou, CEO and co-founder of Intellectra Technologies, will present on the topic: Navigating the Wireless Threat Landscape: Myths and Realities. Kyriacou will explore the challenges posed by today’s interconnected world, particularly how the growing reliance on wireless technology exposes us to a wider range of cyber threats. His talk will debunk myths surrounding wireless security, focusing on cellular IoT networks and 5G, while also highlighting the latest trends and threats in the field. Attendees will gain practical advice on how to create more secure wireless networks, say the organizers.
Second Presentation
Following Kyriacou’s presentation, the second and final talk of the evening will be delivered by Georgios Frangoulis, a software developer at HF Markets. His topic, Asynchronous Programming in Python, will focus on more specific programming concepts such as coroutines, IOLoop, concurrency vs. parallelism, and the FastAPI and Tornado paradigms. Frangoulis will provide hands-on examples to help attendees better understand these complex programming topics.
After the two 30-minute talks, participants will have the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and discuss all things tech.
