The climbing community of Cyprus is gearing up for a two-day gathering in Droushia/Inia, where climbers of all levels will come together for the 3rd Spring Bouldering Festival on May 11 and 12, organized by the Shinosintrofia Climbing Club.
This annual event aims to foster camaraderie among local climbers and provide an opportunity to connect, learn, and appreciate the beauty of Cyprus’ natural landscapes.
Day one will kick off at the Alykou rocks with registration, coffee, and a bouldering competition for seasoned climbers, alongside introductory classes for newcomers. After the competition, participants will head to the Primary School of Inia to camp overnight and enjoy a dinner prepared by chef Tasos Michael, followed by music and the announcement of competition winners.
Sunday will begin with morning yoga, followed by introductory sessions on sport climbing, highlining, and more bouldering until late afternoon.
For beginners eager to explore the sport, introductory classes will be offered on Saturday by instructors from Red Point, Ungravity Climbing, and Limassol Climbing Club. Additionally, a sport climbing session on Sunday, led by instructors from One Step Further and Climb and Hike, will provide further learning opportunities.
Although amateur climbers cannot compete in the official competition, they are welcome to participate in the festival activities, enjoy the camaraderie, and glean valuable climbing insights.
