Approaching is the 25th edition of the Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival, drawing performers, choreographers, and dance enthusiasts to Limassol and Nicosia. Coordinated by the Department of Contemporary Culture under the Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the Rialto Theatre, the upcoming 2024 festival commences on May 31st, running until June 23rd, featuring a diverse array of dance troupes from five nations. The Rialto Theatre in Limassol and the Municipal Theatre of Nicosia will serve as the venues for these performances.
The Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival, a flagship event in the realm of contemporary dance organized by the Department of Modern and Contemporary Culture, has been a fixture since 1998. This event offers audiences the chance to witness innovative dance ensembles from both local and international spheres, thereby playing a pivotal role in the advancement of contemporary dance in Cyprus.
Highlighted within the festival’s itinerary are captivating performances by dance groups hailing from Cyprus, Greece, Denmark, Italy, and the Netherlands. Commencing the festival is a Cypriot production by Suzana Fiala at the Rialto Theatre on May 31st. Subsequent performances, including a Dutch production on June 4th in Limassol, will continue throughout June, with presentations in Nicosia slated for June 12th and 15th.
