Get ready for a weekend of sunshine, reggae, camping, and sea breezes! The One Love Festival Cyprus is set to bring positive vibes and reggae rhythms to the island on the third weekend of September. From September 13-15, Ithaki Beach Bar in Moni, Limassol, will transform into a reggae haven, welcoming music lovers, artists, and campers for a three-day celebration filled with live performances, workshops, and art installations.
More Than Just a Festival
“This event is not just a festival,” the organizers explain, “it’s a celebration of music, art, and community.” Over the span of three days, the festival will feature four distinct stages, each hosting live reggae bands and DJs. Festival-goers can pitch their tents or park their campervans under the stars, while various food stands serve up delicious bites to keep everyone energized.
Engaging Activities and Art Exhibitions
In addition to music, the festival will offer a range of engaging workshops, including yoga and pilates sessions and drumming circles, allowing attendees to connect and unwind. A special art exhibition titled “The Story of the Jamaican Soundsystem” will take place at the Dub Shelter space, showcasing works by artist Constantinos Pissourios, known as Versioncos14. This exhibition will highlight art centered around Soundsystem culture, Roots, Reggae, and Dub, paying homage to influential reggae artists, dub engineers, and soundmen from Jamaica and beyond.
The exhibition will also have an educational component, such as the Jamaican Soundsystem poster series, which will trace the evolution of the soundsystem from the 1960s to the 1990s. The festival will feature performances by five bands, alongside an impressive lineup of 26 DJs and artists. Additionally, a special kid’s zone will be available, making the event family-friendly.
Warm-Up Event
For those eager to experience the vibes ahead of time, or to get a taste of what’s to come, One Love is hosting a warm-up party this Saturday at Sto Dromo bar, located in the heart of old town Limassol.
