As summer continues to heat up, so does the festival season. This weekend, there’s a vibrant array of musical and cultural events to enjoy across cities, villages, and suburbs. Here are some exciting activities taking place this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday around Cyprus.

Windcraft Music Fest: A Decade of Celebration

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Windcraft Music Fest returns this Saturday and Sunday in Katydata village, located in the Nicosia district. This milestone event will attract a diverse audience as musicians from both local and international backgrounds perform in the evenings. Throughout the days, visitors can participate in various workshops designed for all ages and interests. These workshops, along with the exhibition and some concerts, are free. However, performances on the Orchard stage require tickets.

Summer Dance Festival in Limassol

In Limassol, the 21st Summer Dance Festival by Nea Kinisi will take place this Friday through Sunday. This festival offers free, site-specific performances in the city center. It’s a three-day celebration of contemporary dance featuring urban installations and performances. Alongside these main events, there will be several parallel activities including live podcast talks, a breakfast gathering, and a street party, all of which are free and aim to unite the artistic community with the public.

Sunset Ragas in Paphos

Paphos will also host a musical evening this weekend. On July 12, Technopolis 20 will present the Sunset Ragas event, an evening dedicated to Indian Classical Music. Dr. Markus Schmidt on sitar and Ravi Saundankar on tabla will perform melodies specific to the sunset, known as ragas. These ragas are believed to enhance the natural energy and have healing properties when performed at the appropriate time of day.

Jazz Night in Pissouri

For jazz enthusiasts, the Hill View Restaurant in Pissouri will feature a live performance by The Kicker Band on Friday night. The band will play jazz music with instruments including the saxophone, drums, guitar, and double bass, creating a lively atmosphere for all to enjoy.
