Windcraft Music Fest is marking its decade milestone this year and is gearing up for a more vibrant return to Katydata on July 13 and 14. Once again, wind instruments will take center stage, promising moments of excitement, relaxation, endless dancing, and heartfelt community connections in a festival that blends tradition with modernity.
Anticipate mesmerizing jazz, contemporary tunes influenced by folk roots, a fusion of acoustic and electronic melodies, dynamic Balkan and techno brass bands to keep you moving, energizing funky rhythms, soothing sunset ragas, interdisciplinary performances, an engaging mix of music and storytelling, a do-it-yourself saxophone quartet, and much more.
In addition to the evening concerts, the festival will feature a range of free music-making workshops. These will include a four-day seminar on makam music, improvisation sessions open to all, tutorials on tin whistle playing and traditional tsiattista singing, a demonstration on crafting a pithkiavli-flute, and enjoyable artistic activities for children.
Moreover, morning yoga sessions, interactive village tours, an exhibition, and a literary corner will enhance the festival experience this July, welcoming both seasoned attendees and newcomers. Save the date, festival enthusiasts, for the second weekend of July. Festival season is on the horizon!
